Brooke Edde, Rolf Practitioner

Meet Brooke

Helllo, my name is Brooke Edde.

In case this is were you would like to start, here is an updated complete list of all the training I have attended and certifications I have received. but if you would like to know what brought me to this profession and why i do what i do, keep reading.

If you have seen my list of trainings you may be thinking, "Wow! this lady loves school." and you may not suspect that, growing up I was uninterested in school and belived myself to be  "not very smart"  I understand now that i was never deeply passionate about anything like I am the world or bodywork, anatomy and psychology. So passionate infact, I teach and train new therapists through apprenticeships. I teach because, "To truly understand something, you must be able to explain it simply."   ~ Albert Einstein. My lifetime goal is to truly understand the way information manifests in the physical body, and what makes therapy so valuable. I now love to read, research, learn and teach.

My journey into the bodywork field was not straightforward. Oddly enough as a kid I wanted to be a massage therapist. However, my well-intentioned parents advised me to pursue a safer office job. Despite working in various office administrator roles after getting married, I continued to explore the massage therapy world with friends and family. After my divorce in my late 20s, I had to reconsider what I wanted for my life. It was during this time that a dear friend showed me a video that deeply resonated with me...

“What makes you itch? How would you enjoy spending your life? Whatever it is, you have got to do that. Because if you go to school to learn how to do something you don’t like doing just to go on to do something you don’t like doing, is just stupid. If you really do enjoy what you’re doing, no matter what it is, you will eventually become a master of your craft, and that’s the best way to spend your life.”    ~Alan Watts

While pursuing my basic training in massage therapy, I discovered my passion for Structural Integration. This revelation led me to the Dr Ida Rolf Institute of Structural Integration®, where I earned my Rolfer® certification. Early in my Rolfing® practice, a client seeking help with childhood trauma illuminated my need for further training. This encounter sparked a seven-year (and counting) journey into the world of Somatic Therapy aka "Trauma-informed bodywork"

And the rest is history. Thank you for taking the time to meet me by reading my Bio.  I am so grateful that I get to do what I do.  Feel free to contact me with any further questions about what I do and how I can possibly help you in your healing journey.
